I was drawn into the store (Craft, 1172 Yonge Street, 647.435.6869) by the “Moving Sale” signage promising 50 per cent discounts and while the afghani rugs in the main showroom are very nice indeed, it was the tribal, ralli quilts that really caught my eye. Calling all condo dwellers -- EQ3 is clearing out a ton of stock and I do mean a ton. The Canadian chain has opened a massive "pop up store" at 522 King Street West in Toronto where remainder stock from HQ in Winnipeg and elsewhere has been shipped for liquidation. And yes, the savings are huge, about 50 per cent on most merchandise.

Stepping into Wenda Thomson and Gray Abraham’s stupendous art deco apartment is like being transported into a 1930s film set; Fred and Ginger would be right at home dancing from room to de-lovely room. The period furnishings and details—right down to the window casings and air exchangers—are so precise it’s uncanny. Such are the rewards of a lifetime spent collecting decorative art.

The buzz over the arrival of Canada's first Anthropologie is at fever pitch as the U.S. retailer prepares to open the doors to its newest store tomorrow (April 22) at the Shops at Don Mills. An affiliate of Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie mixes women's clothing with a smattering of home decor items, mostly bedding, draperies, lighting and accessories. The chain, which now boasts more than 100 locations, packages global style for the mass market--think Pier One meets Restoration Hardware.
