Indoor/Outdoor at Toronto’s Distillery
Toronto’s Distillery District is leading the design charge this week: yesterday, President’s Choice took over Arta Gallery for a Lawn & Garden Event promoting its latest eco-friendly garden and patio products and then on Saturday and Sunday (May 2 & 3) the site hosts Kimberly Seldon’s Designer Market featuring 40 vendors offering contemporary, vintage and antique furniture, collectibles and fabrics.

Born in Toronto in 1974, the One of a Kind Show has extended its reach to Vancouver, Chicago and New York City. Still the biggest of the bunch, the Toronto event is back beginning today thru December 7 and the home decor options are dizzying. I'll be at the Direct Energy Centre (100 Prince's Boulevard, Exhibition Place) later this morning for a press preview . . .

Nobody does lounge like Futé Design does lounge. The company's new Cocoon line of daybeds and loungers is spectacular--hooded, wrap-around chaises that demand you surrender yourself to them. The Sampan daybed, below right ($3,995), actually rocks; the enveloping yet airy Spartan daybed (below left, $9,295) and Genie Chair (below centre, $3,820) are covered, tranquil spaces that create a room within room.
