High/Low: Curving Sofa

While scouting sofas recently, one of the pieces that caught my eye was the Safari at Mobilia in Mississauga. The compact, curving form of the piece set it apart from everything else on the floor and the price tag nearly bowled me over--just $999, marked down from $1,499.

High/Low: Berber Style for Every Budget

You know a trend is in full flower when you can find examples of an item across a range of price points; this week in Toronto I spotted Syrian-made, walnut tables inlaid with mother of pearl at Constantine (above) for $1,800 - $2,200; I found detailed mahogany pieces from Egypt at the Door Store priced from $525 - $850 and I discovered some charming Rosewood tables inlaid with bone for $225 - $350 at Timbuktu (117 Yonge Street, 416.366.3169).
