I haven’t attended the Christie Antiques Show since it was taken over by the Hamilton Conservation Authority so I’ll be curious to see whether anything has changed when the show touches down again September 7. Rifling through my photos from the fall 2010 show brought back such pleasant memories — the weather was splendid and the mood across the 10 acre site was positively jolly. With 300 dealers all vying to pry cash from the punters’ pockets there were bargains to be had and an array of goods so varied I was truly impressed. From kitsch to country to Art Deco and mid-century modern, Christie has it all. So circle the date, throw some blankets in the trunk and say “Hi” if you spot me plying the wide, grassy aisles.
