On Tuesday I joined Globe and Mail reporter Dave McGinn (second from right), Commute Home‘s Sara Parisotto and designer Robin Lewis, co-host of HGTV’s Reno Vs. Relocate, at Toronto’s La Merceria to dish on design trends we love and a few we love to hate. Dave is paring our chat into bite-sized service-y pieces that will run periodically in the Globe’s Style page. The first entry is up today, a short bit about hanging chandeliers — Robin doesn’t, I do and Sara prefers them low.
Speaking of La Merceria, I blogged about the adorable little housewares store in 2008 and was happily surprised to learn from owner Sandra Rojas-Chinni that the shop-cum-cafe is celebrating its fifth anniversary next week. Congratulations, Sandra, on going the distance in a tough racket! Cheers to another five.

Nice shot. You look like a mere lad. Your table mates could learn a thing or two
about personal style from you Chris.
