Within hours of posting about my new gold bedroom I received the latest e-promo from Crate & Barrel featuring, you guessed it, gold cushions and accessories. It’s rarely my intention to be trendy but it’s funny how when you follow the world of home style you end up channeling the zeitgeist whether you know it or not. Crate’s great looking line of cushions falls into the $35 – $80 range and one or two of them just might end up on my new brass bed.
Then, just this afternoon, no less an arbiter than Elle Decor declared gold a colour trend in their latest web update: “Gold is the new silver,” states New York designer Robert Couturier.
I have to admit it’s nice to be on the cutting edge even if it’s purely accidental. And if gold is the hot hue, that means brass is truly back, which is also good news for me, an unrepentant brass man. The room above is by designer William Sofield (no photo credit available).

Interesting how gold has been in fashion circles for a while now…I’m glad to see it coming into interiors. It’s such a warm colour!

right on Chris! I happened to just picked up a goldish yellow chevron rug and another yellow and cream runner too! let’s the gold shines in our homes!
