Step Away From The Lamps!

On Craigslist yesterday, I came across these fab 1950s table lamps priced at $120 for the pair. Such style! I’d buy them in a second if our house wasn’t already heaving with more lamps than we’ll ever be able to use. I’ve currently got six lamps of my own that I’m trying to unload on Craigslist, two pairs and a couple of singles — I don’t need any more lamps. So help me out and buy these. Please. ‘Cause if they’re still there on Monday morning there’s no telling what I might do.

OMG! Hilarious! Thanks for the laugh this morning…however…they are covet-worthy I must say. When did lamps become the new shoe-like obsession? I find myself wanting them too!

Saw these as well and I am in the same boat…lamp love!
Nowhere to put them really but they’re great looking.
    Cheers.

Saw them as well, but have already fallen in love with an art deco glass lamp, faerie jadeite desk top one, and need I go on…Lois with twelve chandeliers, teach me the twelve step program for light addiction

Great find indeed. That’s the trouble with viral garage sale sites like Craigslist for decor-lovers like you and I, we’re sometimes either laughing at what has crawled up from the past (white growling tiger ceramic base of a glasstop coffee table, anyone?) or salivating at our screen trying to pitch decent figures to the seller as though it were an Ebay competition.

They really are great looking lamps! Though my addiction is for tables (side, writing, vanity, sofa, foyer – I’m always fighting w/myself to use restraint at auction/country sales), I feel your angst over bringing yet another pair of lamps in the house. Although seems you are willing to part with other lamps to make room for them so I say go for it. I’m trying to adopt the ‘one in one out’ rule organizers are always advising but it’s hard to let go of things you’ve cherished or had for a long time, even if now unsuitable for your lifestyle or changed tastes. It is liberating though to make way for something new! They are spectaular looking lamps – I say cave and buy ‘em! Good luck!

DUDE BACK AWAY FROM THE LAMPS! or you know what? my rule and it tends to be a very flexible one is you buy one thing you don’t need you GOTTA! get rid of at least two things you don’t need then you can give into,in this case, lamp lust. Cheers Tiago
