Let’s say you’re planning a trip to Amsterdam (above) or Barcelona, maybe Copenhagen or Munich; naturally you’ll want to check out some of the cooler shops and get a sense of what passes for “vintage” in that part of the world. But how do you find the shops? Well, Dutch website RetroStart.com has just added a new feature called Shop Locator that points you in the right direction.
Naturally, I tested the system by scoping out Canada, the market I’m most familiar with: being a new feature, the app is far from comprehensive but it provides a terrific starting point. In Toronto, Shop Locator steered me to ZigZag, Pazo, Ethel, Navarro Gallery, even Barry’s Office Furniture, all of which have been featured here on styleNorth.
If you’re a retailer, I strongly suggest adding your shop to the database; just click this link, fill out the brief online form and presto, the world will know where to find you.

bbt09,
John and Juli from Kitka Design Toronto did a wonderful travelogue about their trip to Scandinavia in June. This will really whet your appetite: http://kitkadesigntoronto.com/?cat=831
