Splurge: Christmas Ornaments From Fiori

Splurge

As sumptuous as these pictures are, they hardly do justice to Fiori (633 St. Clair Avenue West, 416.658.0715), one of the prettiest little boutiques I’ve had the pleasure to browse. For 10 months a year Fiori is a florist and gift shop but come November the space is transformed into a glimmering, shimmering jewel box of Christmas ornaments thanks to the superb styling talents of shop owner Lidia Tacconelli and designer Michael House.

In the centre of the shop is an archway framed with white branches laden with beautiful ornaments of every description. Running the gamut from affordable to extravagent, the baubles are priced from $4 – $86.50 with most ringing in between $6.50 and $20. Stunning tree toppers stretch from $84.25 – $105.

The luxe, ornament wreath, above, is out of reach for many at $350, although less expensive versions are shown elsewhere in the shop for $160. The fabulous porcelain vases and tchochkes on the mantle range from less than $100 to $786 for the fabulous Fu Dogs (Santa Claus, please take note). Another of my favorite Fiori vignettes, below, features the nativity’s three wisemen ($168.50 for the set), part of a larger collection of beautiful mercury glass table favours. I was so preoccupied with getting the pictures and details I needed for this post that I neglected to buy anything during my trip to Fiori, an oversight I plan to remedy as soon as possible.
