An Easy Fix Redux

Nice looking coffee table, right? Would you believe it was cobbled together from the two Craigslist castoffs below? The brass-top table, much like the last one I rehabilitated, was stuck on the list for weeks with no takers, even at the bargain price of $75. And the bear on his back, well, it’s no mystery why that chunk of cheese went unclaimed. But the glass top was mint and the $35 price was definitely right. Put them together and I’ve got myself a quality, vintage table for just $110, a fraction of what I’d pay for it at Ethel or ZigZag.

Another thing to note is that the brass table was posted on Craigslist Toronto but the seller was actually based in Bolton, a good hour’s drive from the city. No wonder buyers weren’t taking the bait. But a simple enquiry to the seller revealed that he worked in the city and would be happy to deliver it. Moral of the story? It never hurts to ask. Happy hunting!

Beautiful re incarnation of two items. Talk about going green, re-cycling is what it is all about.
Ask lots of questions, you might be surprised at the answers, just like you were.
