I toured Toronto’s Green Tea Design (388 Carlaw Street, Suite 200) with the intention of doing a shop review and pointing to their seasonal inventory sale (on now!) but honestly, I was so dazzled by the space, the light and the beautifully styled, 5,000 sq. ft. showroom that I just have to slug this “inspiration” instead. Green Tea’s stock comes from Korea, Japan and Northern China, some antiques, some of it custom-made to blend Asian design principles with a more modern, Western aesthetic.
In business for 10 years now, owner Dale Storer knows a thing or two about retail. The company’s website comes fully loaded with sumptuous product shots, pricing, even a video segment. The site has allowed Storer to hook business throughout the US and across Canada; Green Tea will ship to just about anywhere and specializes in custom kitchen designs featuring its pan-Asian aesthetic with cabinetry crafted from reclaimed woods (another aspect of the “green” in the business name). View the slide show after the jump.
The vessel sinks above were among my favorite items, so current and yet so refreshingly different from what you’ll see in a bathroom specialty shop. Best part is the price–just $250 each. There was so much to oogle that I’ve put together a slide show from my showroom tour. Enjoy!
